Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a process performed on a website that increases the relevance of the site information as viewed by the major search engines, namely Google, Yahoo, and MSN (Bing).  The most important phase of SEO is the content displayed on the website and the ability of the search engines to read, index and rank the content. See SEO Basics for more information on this step.

There are different levels of SEO depending on the goals of the website. For example, if the website products and services are targeted at a local area, the number of sites that are being competed with is much smaller than if it is targeted at a national or international area.

SEO is based on time spent in the following areas:

  1. Defining the target users and assessing the competition
  2. Analyzing and refining the content that is being displayed to the public
  3. Registering the site with the search engines
  4. Analyzing the results and making changes for improvement

Due to the complexity of the process the project has to be accomplished over a period of time. Initial results will begin to be seen shortly after the process begins, however these will seldom meet the goals of the project and are used as indicators for actions needed.

Example: a new website, in the first 6 weeks, should be picked up by Google, however when searching for a given desirable search term your rank may be 300 to 1000, this of course is not going to drive any traffic to you site. However it is the beginning and now the challenge is to move them up. This is accomplished over a period of time, for a site with a local target, 3 months will begin resulting in meaningful returns, 12 months will produce more and much higher results. For a national campaign the time frame will be longer. For a national campaign you will be competing with millions of sites whereas with a local campaign you will be competing with tens of thousands.

The main factors that effect search engine relevance are:

  1. Unique website content including page content, meta tags, page name, and site structure (link navigation)
  2. The age of the site
  3. The current site traffic
  4. How many other websites that link to yours
  5. The age of the domain and current site

Additional things that can not only help your search engine registrations but also drive traffic to your site right away are:

  1. Putting your domain name on all your company’s advertisement materials including trucks, buildings, business cards, letterheads, yellow page ad, pamphlets etc.
  2. Ads in targeted publications
  3. Pay per click campaigns such as Google Ad Words

Local Search Engine Optimization Services

The goal of a local campaign is to have the search engines rank your company's goods and services rank high when searched for in a specific area (towns, counties, cities etc.).   This process takes much less time than a national campaign due to the fact that the number of websites competing for the ranking is much less.

The results of a local campaign are much quicker than a national campaign.  The reason for this is that a local campaign takes much less research, and revisions.

National Search Engine Optimization Services

The goal of a national campaign is to rank high for keyword phrases that best describe the products and services that your company offers. A front page listing for a two word keyword search can be invaluable to your business. The problem is that you will be competing with literally millions of other websites that are referenced by those words. In addition to main keyword phrases that describe your business, a large percentage of your traffic will be generated by more detailed searches such as product names, brand names, product descriptions, and general topical information.

This is the first step in the optimization process and continues throughout the process. Website content needs to be reviewed and refined. Then meta tags can then be created or refined to support the page content. Throughout the process this will be the most important and time consuming process to reach the end results. In addition to dealing with the original site content, additional pages and content should be added over a period of time. The more supporting general information about any products or services is very important not only to your visitors but to the search engine ranking. Things such as press releases, newsletters, product maintenance procedures, support sections, etc. will raise your website’s relevance with the search engines.

Registering the website using specialized tools is also very important. For all of our search engine campaigns we first generate XML, HTML, and ROR dynamic site maps. These are documents that are not visible to the public but instruct the search engine’s spiders how to spider your site for best results. Once these are created your site is entered into our registration account with each major search engine. Both the site maps and registrations are updated weekly.

Top keyword phrases are indexed each week and results are posted in your website administration section.

Although each campaign is unique, in general our basic package for a national campaign begins at $500 per month and requires a 12 month commitment. The dollar amount is determined by the amount of time that is allocated to the project. The reason for the 12 month commitment is that 50 percent of the total year's time allocation is spent in the first three months. Most search engine optimization companies charge a large fee up front to cover this expense then require a monthly fee to maintain. Unfortunately this allows less than honorable companies to take advantage and really never perform the long hours involved in accomplishing the original goals.

At iNET image, Inc. we do not promote just search engine optimizations, we only optimize our website customers.

The proof of success is in the results. Give us a call and we will be glad to give you examples of our success in the form of FIRST PAGE KEYWORD returns on Google that are worth tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales a year.
